URLtoText was created ultimately as a tool for our main platform stammer.ai.
One of the key functions of stammer is that we built a web scraper, a very fast web scraper, in order to pull the data from web pages that the customer wants to train their bots on.
As part of that, we integrated various technologies that would help us extract the relevant content from a page, render JavaScript, as well as use residential proxies when necessary.
Now, one issue we noticed is that customers—the original interface for the web scraper was designed to allow it to scrape a bunch of URLs at once—but customers would often have issues with a single URL, and so it became necessary to build a tool that would allow a kind of test for a single URL. And that is exactly how URLtoText was born.
Recently, I’ve made the decision to buy a domain for it, URLtoText.com, and create a simple interface for it. Now, this tool is completely free currently and is sponsored by stammer.ai.
