Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bramlett Software LLC ("URLtoText", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use urltotext.com, our web tools, and our API (together, the "Service").

If you have questions, email us at support@urltotext.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information. Your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL from Google.
  • Signup answers. Optional information such as how you heard about us.
  • Team information. Team names, roles, and the email addresses of people you invite.
  • Support messages. Anything you send us by email or post in our community forum. Forum posts are public.

Information created when you use the Service

  • Usage history. The URLs you convert, the options you choose (for example JavaScript rendering, proxies, CSS selectors, or AI prompts), the credits each request uses, and your credit balance and transaction history.
  • Files you upload. PDFs you upload to PDF to Text are deleted from our servers as soon as the conversion finishes.
  • Converted content. We return the extracted text to you. We don't keep a copy of it after the request is complete.
  • API keys. If you create an API key, we store it so we can authenticate your requests.

Payment information

Payments are processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number. We store the payment provider's customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, and your payment history.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data. Like most websites, our servers record your IP address, browser user agent, the pages you request, and the time of each request.
  • Rate limiting. If you use the free tool without an account, we use your IP address to apply usage limits.
  • Cookies. We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. We also store small preferences in your browser, such as dark mode.
  • Analytics and advertising. We use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site, and advertising tags to measure the results of our advertising.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide the Service, including fetching the pages you request and returning their text.
  • Create and manage your account and team, and authenticate API requests.
  • Process payments, add and deduct credits, and send receipts and low-balance alerts.
  • Respond to support requests and send important account and service messages.
  • Send occasional product updates and tips by email, once you've confirmed your email address. Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link.
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, and spam, including enforcing rate limits and verifying signups.
  • Monitor errors, maintain security, and improve the Service.
  • Measure the effectiveness of our marketing.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content you convert to train AI models.

How we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to do their work on our behalf. These include providers of:

  • Hosting and infrastructure, which store and process the data on our servers.
  • Web page and transcript fetching, which receive the URLs you convert and the fetch options you choose.
  • AI processing, which receive your prompt and the extracted page text, only when you use the AI prompt option.
  • Payments, which receive billing and payment details.
  • Sign-in and spam protection, including Google sign-in and Google reCAPTCHA on our signup form. reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Email delivery, which receive your email address and the content of the emails we send you.
  • Analytics, advertising measurement, and error monitoring, which receive site visit data and technical details of errors.

These providers are bound by contract or their own terms to protect your information and to use it only to provide their services.

We may also share information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business. If ownership of the Service changes, this Privacy Policy will continue to apply to your information unless you are notified otherwise.

How long we keep information

We keep account, usage, and billing information for as long as your account is open. After you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except for records we must keep for legal, tax, or accounting reasons, or to resolve disputes. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Your choices and rights

  • Access, correction, and deletion. You can update your account details in your profile. To get a copy of your information or to delete your account, email support@urltotext.com from the email address on your account.
  • Marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email us, to stop them. You'll still get account and billing emails while your account is open.
  • Cookies and analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the cookies we use to keep you signed in will stop the Service from working properly.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, object to processing, or request data portability, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you can request access to and deletion of your personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request. We will respond to verified requests within the time required by law.

Security

We use HTTPS for all traffic, store passwords only as secure hashes, and limit access to personal information to the people who need it to run the Service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our servers and most of our service providers are located in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
